Rory's First Dentist Appointment

Rory had her first dentist appointment this morning. She was SOOO good, it was incredible. They counted her teeth (20) and cleaned and polished them and because she was so cooperative they put flouride on them. When she was all done she received a new Dora toothbrush, toothpaste, a toy from the treasure chest, a certificate of bravery and a coupon for a free ice cream. She was trilled. Hopefully all future trips to the dentist will be this easy, of course, I won't be holding my breath for that!

Apron to make tea

Rory swore she needed an apron to protect her clothes (her Bears jersey) to make tea for our tea party on Sunday so I let her borrow an apron I used to wear when I was little. She gave up wearing it after about 15 minutes because it kept falling off her shoulders.

Update-11 Weeks

We had another doctor's appointment today. Nothing new to report, all is well. I'm still getting sick a lot but I'm maintaining my weight, so that's good. We heard the heartbeat, strong at 175 bpm. It's so cool!

Rory is convinced she has a say as to the sex of the baby, stating she wants a sister and we're not allowed to have a brother. We're definitely going to need to work on that if we find out we're having a boy but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

The next appointment is October 20th.

The News

For those of you that didn't get it from the title of our blog, we are expecting! We're still very early in the pregnancy but are feeling comfortable sharing the news. It was pretty obvious to anyone who knows me since I stopped having my regular glass of wine or beer.

The estimated due date at this point is April 13th. Rory is hoping for a sister but we're hoping for a boy. Whatever happens we'll all be happy! The early stages of pregnancy are pretty much like they were for Rory. I've been sick but surviving. It will be a while before I start showing but my clothes are already tight, which stinks. The next doctor's appointment is September 22nd. We'll keep you updated.

The all-important Welcome!

Wow, we have entered the world of blogging. I never thought it would be possible but here we are. We wanted to be able to share the chapters of our lives with everyone and it's becoming so hard to keep in touch. I hope everyone is doing well and we can't wait to catch up.
